This was revealed by Secretary Emmanuel Angeles of the Commission on Higher Education whose visit yesterday was marked with a lightning rally staged by a students’ group.

Tacloban City [November, 2008] – Tacloban City Mayor Alfred Romualdez will lead today, November 14, the inauguration of the multi-million Balyuan Park Amphitheater.
This was according to Sangyaw Foundation President Alex Montejo, who also disclosed that the said occasion would include the launching of the foundation’s programs and projects, and the awarding of Taclobanons who have distinguished themselves in the field of Arts.

Tacloban City [October, 2008] — While there is no definite schedule yet for the holding of the plebiscite on the bid of this city to become a highly urbanized city, the Commission on Elections is now busy preparing for the said poll exercise.
Susan Collamar, city elections officer, said that as part of their preparations on the possible holding of a plebiscite in the city, the list of registered voters are now being prepared by them.

Tacloban City [October, 2008] – The Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) College of Education is pushing to enhance their teacher-education program.
Rosalie Ocaris, head of the student-teaching department, said one of the steps they made to improve the program is by conducting an exit conference on the performance of their student-teachers as a sort of evaluation upon ending their practicum.
